Pokémon GO Thanksgiving Event Double XP, Stardust - Going on Now

Pokémon GO Thanksgiving Event: Double XP, Stardust - Going on right now!

Just open Pokemon Go and start playing now you will earn double XP and stardust, add a lucky egg and evolve eggs and you will score high points on that as well. It seems to work when you visit pokestops and when you win Gym Battles, now is the time to play and level up!

How to win Gym Battles and add yourself to a gym in Pokémon Go

When I first started playing Pokémon Go the area of Gym Battles and getting your Pokémon attached to a gym so you can collect poké coins once a day was a mystery to me.

Now after a few weeks of playing and testing I have mastered many of the techniques out there and can now share what worked for me.

Step 1 - if you want to win Gyms you need a least 6 solid Pokémon with Hi CP. You get this by catching Pokémon and using stardust to up it's CP as high as you can get it.

Step 2 - Look for Gyms that don't have so many tiers one's that only have 2 or 3 Pokémon are easier to win then ones that have 6 or more. Here is why when you are let's say on the red team and you try to take over a yellow teams gym you are given 6 Pokémon from your stack to defeat the gym. If the gym has only 2 or 3 Pokémon you get to use all your 6 to knock them out. So even if your CP is lower that their's you can use 2 of your Pokémon to take down one of theirs.

Step 3- After you win all 3 battles you may not have the ability to add your Pokémon to the gym because the gym has to go down to 0 before you can make that addition. So go into your items area and charge up your Pokémon and then battle the same gym again. Usually winning a gym 2 or 3 times in a row will make it available to add your Pokémon to that gym. You will know it's time to add your Pokémon when the Gym turns white and an icon appears on the left side, click it quickly and add your Pokémon if you don't do this fast someone can grab it from you.

How to get Poke Coins? Once a day go to the store and click on the icon in the upper right it will add 10 coins for each Gym you are a member of. Here is tip if you get kicked out of the Gyms fast (in Central Park your lucky to stay in a Gym for a 1/2 hour before getting kicked out) so add your Pokémon to the gym and immediately after go right to the store and click on the icon on the upper right, you will get your coins immediately do this for 8 days you will have 80 coins enough for a Lucky egg.

Pokemon Go buddy: What is the new buddy feature all about?

The New buddy feature in Pokémon Go is awesome.

This new feature allows you to collect candy for your hard to find Pokémon like Snorlax so you can power them up.

For example lets say you caught a cool Lapras and you haven't caught any more since, well you can't power him up without any additional candy. This is where is comes in handy, just add the Lapras as a buddy and walk around soon you will see a pop-up that says they added some Lapras candy without you having to catch a Lapras, how cool is that.

You can add your buddy by clicking on your avatar on the lower left of your screen then clicking on the the green circle  and selecting add buddy, choose the Pokémon you want as your buddy and then get to walking.

If you select your avatar again when you are on the main screen and then click again you will see how much you have to walk until the candy will arrive.

What is Pokémon Stardust and how can I earn it

What is Pokémon Stardust?

Stardust is an item you can earn in Pokémon Go, the free app from Nintendo, that can be used to power up your captured Pokémon's to higher levels.

So why would you power up your Pokémon? basicly to prepare them for battle in a gym. The stronger they are the more likely they will win battles and this is where you can earn Pokécoins to buy items like Lures in the in App Store.

So How Can you Earn Stardust in Pokémon Go?

1- Capture a Pokémon

First you have to catch a Pokémon with a Pokéball, a captured Pokemon Earn's you 100 Stardust Points!

Stardust cannot be purchased in the in-app store it must be earned by capturing Pokémon. See below I captured Zubat then earned 100 Stardust and 3 candies.

Stardust can be used to power up any Pokémon that you have captured. Candy however can only be used for evolving that specific Pokémon.

Catch a Pokémon here                           Get 100 Stardust

2- Hatch an Egg

Each time you hatch an egg your earn stardust some eggs earn more than others the faster  they hatch the more you get.

3- Defending a Gym

When you reach level 5 you can join a gym and then train, defend the gym by placing your Pokémon in it. This will also earn you Stardust as well as Pokécoins every 21 hours.
Claim the bonus by going to the store in the app and in clicking the Sheild icon in the upper right corner.

You cannot earn Stardust from visiting Pokéstops and spinning the circle, there are other goodies there but no Stardust.
